I painted in the first Wekiva Paintout in a boat on the river for three days and this was one of my favorite places to paint. I used a small plein air painting as a model and I wanted to express the excitement I have for the Wekiva River in this piece. If you want a real jungle cruise in Florida, take a canoe or kayak down this river from the State Park to the St John's River.
